Four simulated detectives play Clue. Each one keeps a notebook with checks, crosses and numbered clues, and draws every conclusion its rules allow. You can step through any game from each player's side, or look at how long the game lasts over 1,000 deals.
One turn is one player's go. Bars count games; the line marks the mean.
Seat 1 moves first. Seats 1 and 2 also hold 5 cards; seats 3 and 4 hold 4.
1,000 identical deals per row (deals #1–1000). Every detective only accuses when certain, so no row has a wrong accusation.
Same 1,000 deals. Every notebook is Perfect; only the way of choosing questions changes.
One Smart player, three standard players. Each row moves the Smart player to a different seat. ★ marks the Smart player's own win rate. Fair share is 25%.
Each level keeps all the rules of the levels before it, and repeats them until nothing new follows.
SMART uses the Perfect notebook and changes only how questions are chosen (see The setup).
